The calendar vs. the scale

The calendar says we're halfway to the end of the month.

The scale says I'm nowhere near my goal of losing five pounds.

You guys still out there? You guys still doing this with me?

Well, look, if you've fallen off the wagon and lost motivation as much as I have, you are not alone.

And you know what else?

IT'S NOT TOO LATE.

It's Sunday, it's the middle of the month.

Even if you have to change your goal to lose 2.5 pounds, that's fine. That's SOMETHING.

Look at the sidebar. No guilt, people.

It's a new day.

Let's put the past two weeks behind us, and start fresh, right now, this morning.

If you're sticking to it, if you're meeting your goals, then, HOORAY!!! Tell me all about it. I need some motivation, guys.

Help me out here. Let's make it so the calendar stops winning and the scale can give January the finger.

Who's with me?

Seriously, who's with me??

  1. Still here! I admit--I haven't exactly weighed myself ... and I'm not exercising as much as I should. But I'm hanging in there with eating more reasonably. I imagine it will pay off, but am sort of afraid to look. Maybe next week.

  2. Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

  3. I'm with you! And here's another tip (that you all probably already know).

Weight yourself EVERY DAY (for best results, at the same time of day). Really! Especially if you have the kind of scale that break it down for you (instead of 100 lbs, it would be 100.7 lbs). Because EVERY 10th of a pound is an accomplishment (and motivator). Also, because if you're "cheating" the scale will catch it. So if you're weighing yourself everyday, you'll catch it too. :)

I was wondering, could we maybe do progress bars on the side bar (like some people track their word count, we'll track our weight loss)? I think it'd be great to see how everyone is doing! :)
